We are Russ and Rebecca Climie, photographers, serial entrepreneurs and overall travel geeks based in Grand Rapids, MI.

We met when we were 12, married in college and had the standard Midwestern upbringing. Graduated with honors, started our company, bought a large house in the suburbs, had two cars...blah blah blah. We did everything that society told us we were supposed to do to be successful.

But the catch was, we weren’t happy. Time and money poor, we couldn’t shake the feeling that there should be something more.

Inspired by the tiny house movement, we decided to make a radical change in 2015. Chucking it all, we sold everything. I mean everything. The furniture, the house, the second car, everything. Moving into a micro downtown studio, we took control and developed a new LOW DRAG LIFE.

 

About Us

Current status:

  • We have no pets, no kids and only 1 car. Yes it is true. We don’t even have a plant.

  • We have barely any closet space, but actually figured out, that we don’t need those 20 sweaters we wore once in 2005!

  • We have more time with those we love than we could have ever wished for.

  • We travel the world together and I mean epic adventures: Egypt, South Africa, the Caribbean, New York City, Washington D.C., New Orleans, Europe, anywhere and everywhere.

  • We feel like we have been given a second chance.

Launching LOW DRAG LIFE isn’t about business, it's personal.

Maybe you wish you could do the same. Do you feel weighted down by the life you have but never would have chosen? We hope that sharing our journey will inspire you. We are in hot pursuit of a life well lived, a life of our own design, a life that we can be proud of.

6) WE BELIEVE...This planet is big and beautiful and everyone should see it.
7) WE BELIEVE...Marriage is sacred, friendships matter and all relationships require time.
8) WE BELIEVE…Simple, tiny moments cultivated over time make up an incredible life.
9) WE BELIEVE...It is more important to CHANGE one person’s life than to just DREAM about changing the world.
10) WE BELIEVE...Each of us has a purpose. Abandon the unimportant and pursue what actually matters to you!
